International Day of Forests-2021

FRI Celebrates ‘International Day of Forests-2021’


The Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun celebrated the International Day of Forests-2021 on 20-03-2021. An exhibition was organized on the topic ‘Forest restoration: a path to recovery and well being.’

The exhibition was inaugurated by Arun Singh Rawat, Director General Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) and Director, Forest Research Institute (FRI). Scientific and technical knowledge was disseminated to the public through posters and other display materials. All heads of divisions, scientists and officers, scientists and officers of FRI were present on the occasion. An essay and painting competition on the topic ‘Ways of improving native flora’ was held for the students of Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas for which entries were received online. A nature walk for bird watching and floral biodiversity was also organized in the FRI campus for the employee of the institute. ENVIS RP at FRI participated in the exhibition.
