19th Commonwealth Forestry Conference began at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun on Monday. While inaugurating the 5-day long conference which was attended by around 500 delegates, Ajay Narayan Jha, Secretary, Union Ministry for Environment, Forests and Climate Change, expressed happiness over an increase in forest cover in India in the past couple of years.
A video message from Union Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change (Independent charge) Anil Madhav Dave was also televised to the audience in which he extended his best wishes to the participants for the success of the conference.
ENVIS Centre on Forestry participated in an exhibition, conducted on this occasion.
